Position Overview
This position provides engineering assistance to the Resident Engineer in the layout, inspection and documentation of highway construction projects.
Essential Functions
- Provides accurate and efficient measurements and construction staking as a member of the survey crew.
- Keeps accurate and legible records of inspection field measurements and documentation of contracts.
- Keeps the Resident Engineer informed on the status of and problems with contractor’s work.
- Maintains records as directed by the Resident Engineer.
- Performs duties in compliance with departmental safety rules. Performs all duties in a manner conducive to the fair and equitable treatment of all employees.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Completion of two years of college in civil engineering technology, pre-engineering, or a job related technical/science curriculum OR two years of engineering experience.
Conditions of Employment
- Valid driver’s license.
- Travel.
- Successful completion of a background screening.
