- Organizes, plans, executes, controls, and evaluates the department's statewide Correctional Officer Trainee (COT) and Corrections Treatment Officer Trainee (CTOT) recruitment programs in the Northern Region.
- Serves as working supervisor.
- Provides input to policy development and evaluation for the Department’s COT/CTOT screening process and COT/CTOT recruitment plans.
- Gathers information for background investigations, including employment reference checks, criminal history checks, military documents, citizenship, and education documents.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonable within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
- Of the two (2) years of required administrative experience requires one (1) year to be in agency hiring, recruiting, or screening capacities.
- Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of college preferably with courses in business or public administration.
- Requires two (2) years of responsible administrative experience in a public or business organization.
- Prefers at least one (1) year of administrative experience in hiring, recruiting, or screening capacities.
- Prefers at least two (2) years of professional experience performing and/or managing screening activities for hiring in correctional or law enforcement environments.
- Prefers at least two (2) years of professional experience gathering required documentation for background checks.
- Prefers at least two (2) years of professional experience coordinating training programs, recruitment or compliance monitoring.
- Prefers at least two (2) years of working experience in a correctional or law enforcement setting.
- Prefers at least two (2) years of supervisory experience.
- Prefers at least one (1) year of working experience developing and implementing policies and procedures for a correctional or law enforcement setting.
- Requires ability to travel in the performance of duties, with overnight stays as appropriate.
- Requires ability to pass the IDOC/IDJJ background check.
- Requires ability to pass a drug screen. The use of unauthorized drugs by an employee, regardless of position held, is prohibited.
- Applicants are required to abide by all vaccine and/or other medical standards as set out by the employer.
- Required to utilize digital technology, tools, platforms, and processes in managing and supporting various digital enhancements for greater efficiency, productivity, and digital transformation efforts within the department.
