The Idaho Transportation Department is hiring atemporary, non-benefited,Shopkeeperfor ourDistrict 4 Shop, located in Shoshone, Idaho.The successful candidate would play an essential role, working directly with our shop staff. This opportunity provides practical real-worldexperience and exposure to a variety of shop and mechanical tasks.
This position requires driving an ITD vehicle. A valid driver’s license is required and a driving record review is required.

Responsibilities May Include, But Are Not Limited To
- Collecting and transporting shop parts and supplies;
- Loading, unloading, and organizing shop equipment;
- Cleaning and general maintenance of shop;
- May perform routine maintenance procedures including oil changes, tire rotations, fluid flushes, etc.;
- May perform multi-point vehicle inspections;
- Following and promoting our high standards of safety, cleanliness, and organization;
- Working together with other technicians you will solve problems, meet deadlines, and deliver great results.
- A strong motivation to learn a mechanical service career path
- Shows a high level of interest, willingness to learn, and embraces new ideas
- Good communication skills and strong attention to detail
- Self-motivated and exemplifies a positive attitude
- A valid driver’s license
- Occasionally lift and/or move over 50 pounds
- Be able to work with tools on vehicles lifted above their head
- Work in tight spaces as dictated by the vehicle's needed repair
- Have the needed dexterity in order to efficiently use hand-tools
- Walk/stand for the majority of the workday
- Drive manual transmission vehicles
