The Idaho Transportation Department is seeking a motivated Electrical Apprentice to join our D4 team in Shoshone, Idaho. This position is temporary, non-benefited. This is a hands-on opportunity ideal for someone currently enrolled in an electrician program who's looking to gain real-world experience and will work under a licensed Electrician.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
- Assist licensed electricians with installations, maintenance, and repairs
- Pull wires, install outlets, fixtures, and panels
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Follow safety protocols and local electrical codes
- Organize tools and equipment
The position requires:
- Eagerness to learn
- Ability to work well under the supervision of a Journeyman Electrician following electrical code manuals
- Pre-employment and random drug testing
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Knowledge of traffic signal systems is a bonus
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Currently enrolled in an electrical trade program or apprenticeship
- Basic understanding of electrical systems and tools
- Willingness to learn and follow directions
- Strong work ethic and reliability
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods
