The Office of Representative Trish La Chica is seeking a creative, community-minded Legislative Aide for the 2026 Session.
This position is perfect for someone who loves engaging with people, crafting meaningful stories, and bringing a fresh, positive energy to the State Capitol.
Responsibilities
- Respond to constituent concerns and inquiries with empathy and follow-through.
- Draft monthly newsletters, surveys, and social-media updates to keep the community informed.
- Capture photos and videos for social-media storytelling and event recaps.
- Support office communications, including correspondence, phone calls, and emails.
- Conduct research on key community and legislative issues, including education, transportation, and housing.
- Track and report on the progress of active legislation.
- Assist with community events, school visits, and constituent outreach.
Qualifications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Creative eye for content — social media, photography, or video editing experience a plus.
- Organized, dependable, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Workspace, Canva, video editing software, and social-media platforms preferred.
- Flexibility for occasional extended hours during peak legislative weeks.
