The Department of Land & Natural Resources, Engineering Division, has ONE (1) urgent vacancy located in Halawa to Kalihi.

Operate and maintain heavy earth moving equipment as a primary, regular work assignment; may perform related manual work tasks; and perform other related duties as assigned.To qualify, applicants must meet all of the following requirements:

LEGAL AUTHORIZATION TO WORK:

The State of Hawaii requires all persons seeking employment with the government of the State shall be citizens, nationals, or permanent resident aliens of the United States, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment in the United States.


Experience Requirement: SIX (6) MONTHS work experience which demonstrated knowledge and abilities required for operating, maintaining and making minor repairs to equipment such as:

A. Cranes of less than 15-ton capacity,
B. Power shovels of less than 3/4 cubic yard capacity,
C. Graders, and/or
D. Heavy tractors (e.g., D-6 and above, TD 15 and above, and comparable models) with bulldozing and similar attachments.

Commercial Driver's License (CDL): This position requires the possession of a valid State of Hawaii Commercial Driver's License (CDL), CLASS A, and without restrictions relating to codes E (manual transmission) and L (air brakes).

NOTE: If a copy of your CDL is not submitted at the time of application, your application will be rejected.

Note: A valid out-of-state CDL may also be accepted. If you are selected for this position, you must transfer your out-of-state CDL to a Hawaii-issued CDL prior to your employment start date. Your Hawaii-issued CDL will be verified by the hiring agency before you can start employment. Please contact the Honolulu CDL Office at (808) 487-5534 for information on how to obtain a Hawaii CDL.
