Salary:  $4,672/mo. or  $56,064 annually (WS-02, Step A)

The Groundskeeper II position supervises and participates in performing a variety of manual work in groundskeeping as a major work assignment.  Supervises the work of a crew in performing manual work in the cleaning, care and maintenance of landscaped grounds and adjacent areas.

CLICK HERE.To qualify, applicants must meet ALL of the following requirements:

Experience and Training:  Two (2) years of full-time work experience in the care and maintenance of grounds and other landscaped areas; or any equivalent combination of training and experience.


Knowledge of:  Care and cultivation of shrubs, flowers, trees, and lawns; use, care and operation of grounds maintenance equipment such as power mowers, edgers and trimmers, as well as hand tools used in grounds maintenance work.

Ability to:  Assign and supervise the work of others; keep time and attendance records; gain the cooperation of others; understand and follow oral and written instructions; operate and use grounds maintenance equipment and hand tools; perform lifting, carrying and other manual work typical of the class.

Physical Requirements:  Applicants must be able to perform the essential functions of the position effectively and safely, with or without reasonable accommodation.


Driver's License:  Applicants must possess a valid driver's license to drive in the State of Hawaii at the time of appointment.

Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Clearance - Federal Criminal History Records Check:  In accordance with Federal regulations, persons who are being considered for employment in positions which require unescorted access to secured areas at the airport must undergo a pre-employment fingerprint-based criminal history record check.  In order to be granted the SIDA clearance, prospective employees must not have been convicted, or found "not guilty by reason of insanity," of a disqualifying criminal offense within ten years from the date of the application.  Upon recommendation for hire, prospective employees will be required to successfully undergo the fingerprint-based criminal history record check and be found free of disqualifying convictions during the preceding ten years.
