SPECIAL NOTES:
A High School Diploma or its equivalent is required.
Preferences:
- Two (2) years of professional payroll, accounting and auditing experience or a post-secondary degree which may be used as an alternative for years of experience.
- Two (2) or more years of experience performing accounting/auditing related duties.
- Payroll and accounting experience.
- Experience with Florida Accounting Information Resource (FLAIR).
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite specifically Excel.
- Experience with Conducting Compliance audits.
- Experience auditing timesheet information.
- Professional experience with payroll audits.
- Professional experience compiling and analyzing fiscal data.
Minimum Qualifications for this position include the following REQUIRED ENTRY LEVEL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of methods of data collection and analysis.
- Ability to collect, evaluate, and analyze data to develop alternative recommendations, solve problems, document workflow, and other activities.
- Ability to organize data into a logical format for presentation in reports, documents and other written materials.
- Ability to conduct fact-finding research.
- Ability to utilize problem solving techniques.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments.
- Ability to communicate effectively.

This position requires a security background check, including fingerprint as a condition of employment.
Employees of the Department of Financial Services are paid on a monthly pay cycle.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
- Responsible for providing assistance with and participating in statewide quality assurance reviews to determine compliance within payroll system requirements.
- Communicate and provide assistance to state agency personnel offices and organizational units to improve management capabilities and operational procedures.
- Responsible for assisting team members with audit concept reviews.
- Responsible for producing professional reports in final formatting.
- Audit, analyze and document internal controls.
