Senior Psychiatrist Position at Northeast Florida State Hospital
We are seeking a dedicated Senior Psychiatrist to deliver top-tier mental health care and expert psychiatric services at Northeast Florida State Hospital (NEFSH).
About the Role:
- Provide individualized, evidence-based care to both civil and forensic patients.
- Contribute to hospital-wide quality improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Forensic Duties:
Prepare court-ordered reports,
provide expert testimony,
collaborate with legal teams on patient competency cases. - Team Leadership:
Lead interdisciplinary treatment teams,
mentor staff,
recommend educational needs to enhance patient care. - Quality Improvement:
Participate in performance initiatives,
review data,
implement corrective actions to improve outcomes. - Hospital Committees:
Engage in key hospital functions,
including MEC and Forensic Board Review meetings,
contribute to policy decisions.
Requirements:
- Certification in CPR, First Aid, MANDT, Infection Control, Customer Service, and OSHA requirements.
- Knowledge of the principles and practices of program management and delivery of mental health services.
- Licensure as a physician pursuant to Chapter 458, Florida Statutes.
- Two years of post-licensure professional experience in the practice of medicine.
