Position Overview :

This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the quality of health care in Florida.

We are seeking to hire an Administrative Secretary who desires to work to enhance the delivery of health care services through the Florida Medicaid Program.

This position requires a candidate who is creative, flexible, innovative, and who will thrive in a fast-paced, team-based work environment.

This position is located in the Bureau of Plan Management Operations (PMO).

PMO is responsible for the primary oversight of Medicaid’s managed care programs, with a focus on the Statewide Medicaid Managed Care (SMMC) program.

The bureau’s primary responsibility is ensuring that the managed care plans meet Medicaid contractual requirements, including the timely provision of medically needed services and provider payment for such services.

This position is responsible for providing administrative and clerical support for the Plan Management staff / leadership and functions.

This position will only be filled at the salary of $1,467.44 biweekly and is non-negotiable.

This position is not a remote or telework position.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of principles of correct grammar usage.
  • Knowledge of office procedures.
  • Knowledge of basic filing practices.
  • Knowledge of standard business formats and styles for emails, letters, and business forms.
  • Knowledge of office equipment operation.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Suite (Excel, WORD, Power Point, TEAMS, Outlook, etc.)
  • Skilled in accurately typing.
  • Skilled in the use of the computer to handle correspondence, compose reports, access information via the internal Agency Intranet, as well as the internet.
  • Ability to type letters, memoranda and other standard business forms in correct format.
  • Ability to independently utilize the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to use correct spelling and punctuation.
  • Ability to proofread typed materials and other documents for errors and independently make necessary corrections.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues in a team environment.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to answer telephone calls and route calls appropriately.
  • Ability to organize files and other electronic records.
  • Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing.
  • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS

  • 2 years of experience in providing administrative support.
  • 2 years of clerical office work experience in managing, coordinating, arranging meetings, preparing appointments, ordering office supplies, making travel arrangements, taking minutes in meetings,  preparing / updating spreadsheets, maintaining records.
  • 2 years of experience working with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, TEAMS and Outlook).

    BACKGROUND SCREENING

    It is the policy of the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration that any applicant being considered for employment must successfully complete a State and National criminal history check as a condition of employment before beginning employment, and, if applicable, also be screened in accordance with the requirements of Chapter 435, F.S., and Chapter 408, F.S.  No applicant may begin employment until the background screening results are received, reviewed for any disqualifying offenses, and approved by the Agency.  Background screening shall include, but not be limited to, fingerprinting for State and Federal criminal records checks through the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and may include local criminal history checks through local law enforcement agencies.
