Summary Statement
This position serves as a member of the management team for the Division of Public Health’s Community Mobile Health Unit.� The Primary function of this role is to plan, direct, and evaluate the work of direct care staff at the health unit.� Work includes supervision of full-time Merit positions; program planning, directing, and monitoring as well as evaluation of program effectiveness for recommendations to Administration.� The elements of supervision include planning, assigning, reviewing, and evaluating performance, training, and recommending hire, termination, and discipline.� Supervision also includes responsibility for providing documentation to support recommended corrective and disciplinary actions, signing performance plans and appraisals, and resolving informal grievances.� In addition, incumbents provide adequate staff coverage to ensure the quality service delivery to clients and assistance in developing guidelines and manuals for specific aspects of nursing services.

Prepares and submits records, reports, evaluations and forms.� Participates in and make recommendations regarding quality assurance activities.�
Job Requirements
JOB REQUIREMENTS for Nursing Supervisor Applicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas: Nursing Supervisor - Public Health Nursing Possession of a Bachelors degree or higher in Nursing and at least two years experience as a Registered Nurse in Public Health Nursing OR a Masters degree or higher in Nursing and at least one year experience as a Registered Nurse in Public Health Nursing. Possession of a Delaware Registered Nurse license OR multi-state compact license. Knowledge of staff supervision acquired through course work, academic training, training provided through an employer, or performing as a lead worker overseeing the work of others; OR supervising staff which may include planning, assigning, reviewing, and evaluating the work of others; OR supervising through subordinate supervisors a group of professional, technical, and clerical employees .
