Click�here�for more information POSITION HIGHLIGHTS This position is full-time, following a first shift schedule, 40 hours per week, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with the potential for telework with the successful completion of the working test period. PURPOSE OF JOB CLASS (NATURE OF WORK)
In the Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection, Division of Public Safety, Connecticut On-Line Law Enforcement Communications Teleprocessing (COLLECT) Unit this class is accountable for independently performing a full range of tasks in association with the compliance and training of state and local law enforcement entities that have access to and use federal and state law enforcement systems.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES
Performs comprehensive examinations of law enforcement systems records, usage and documentation of criminal justice and non-criminal justice entities that use federal and state law enforcement systems;� Reviews and examines data and system usage for compliance, misuse and errors;� Conducts on site review of system location and security;� Meets with agency/department designee to review records, policies and procedures;� Reviews findings with agency/department official(s);� Makes recommendations to agencies to ensure system compliance;� Responds to agency/department request for system access;� Maintains agreement of systems use;� Assists agency/department in ensuring authorized users possess and maintain certification;� Prepares examination reports and makes recommendations;� Works with agency/department designee to establish corrective action plan as needed;� Provides training to internal and external users;� Assists with drafting policy and procedures for unit;� Submits relevant or new Connecticut General Statutes to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI);� Attends trainings and seminars;� May participate in hearings or conferences;� May recommend suspension or revocation of system privileges;� May attend conferences;� Performs related duties as required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - GENERAL EXPERIENCE
Six (6) years of experience in the examination and evaluation or training of law enforcement systems.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - SUBSTITUTIONS ALLOWED
College training may be substituted for the General Experience on the basis of fifteen (15) semester hours equalling one-half (1/2) year of experience to a maximum of four (4) years for a Bachelor's degree. A Master's degree in criminal justice, law enforcement or a closely related field may be substituted for one (1) additional year of the General Experience. Successful completion of the Connecticut Careers Trainee program in the evaluation of and training on law enforcement systems may be substituted for the General Experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience working in law enforcement or legal compliance; Experience working directly with law enforcement and reviewing classified information including criminal justice records; Experience presenting data to non-technical audiences; Experience working independently to analyze and resolve problems; Experience managing competing priorities while meeting deadlines; Experience communicating in writing and verbally to internal and external stakeholders; Experience with computer networking systems implementing the security related controls for the interface agency and its users including ensuring the approved; and security measures are in place and are working.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Incumbents in this class must possess and retain certifications from the United States FBI Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) National Data Exchange System and COLLECT/National Crime Information Center (NCIC). Incumbents in this class must possess and retain a valid Motor Vehicle Operator's license. Incumbents in this class are required to travel.
