The responsibilities of this part-time adjunct instructor position include teaching quality courses for the English (ENG) program in the Department of English and World Languages starting the Fall Semester of the 2025-2026 academic year. We are specifically looking for people who are qualified to teach First-Year Rhetoric and Writing.
Description of Job
POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Adjunct Instructor of ENG will perform the following duties:
The selected candidate for this in-person, on-campus position will teach baccalaureate level courses in the English program in accordance with program needs.
Specific duties include:
- preparing and presenting course materials according to department curricular needs;
- administering appropriate evaluations of student performance;
- preparing, administering, and grading assignments;
- holding office hours;
- assigning final grades.
Minimum Qualifications, Substitutions, Conditions of Employment & Appeal Rights
Required:
- M.A. in English or related field, or Bachelor degree with at least 18 graduate credit hours in English
- At least one year of college-level teaching experience.
Preferred:
- Experience teaching rhetoric and writing courses at the college level.
- Experience working with a diverse student and staff population.
Compensation
$1,000 per credit hour up to 24 combined total credit hours for Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters
