Job Description
The State of California is seeking a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to provide general and psychiatric nursing care to mentally disabled individuals. The LVN will work under general supervision, applying nursing and mental health principles to deliver therapeutic interventions and modalities.
Responsibilities:
- Provide nursing care to mentally disabled individuals utilizing nursing and mental health principles.
- Supervise individuals' activities and assist other disciplines in the provision of care as outlined in care plans.
- Collaborate with members of the interdisciplinary team in developing and implementing interventions and discharge criteria.
- Maintain a therapeutic milieu in collaboration with other disciplines and the individual.
- Perform nursing procedures such as administering medications and treatments, taking and charting vital signs, and using medical equipment safely and effectively.
Requirements:
- Candidates must have eligibility for permanent civil service status, be reachable on an employment list, have transfer eligibility, or have reinstatement eligibility.
- Candidates must be willing to work in any unit/program and any shift to meet the needs of the facility.
