Job Summary
The Facility Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the daily operations, maintenance, and logistics of state-owned facilities to ensure they remain safe, functional, and compliant with state and federal regulations. This position plays a key role in scheduling maintenance, managing facility use, coordinating with contractors, and supporting operational efficiency.
Primary Responsibilities
Monitor daily facility operations, ensuring that buildings, equipment, and grounds are maintained in good working condition. Assist in scheduling and coordinating preventative maintenance, repairs, and facility inspections. Ensure that safety and compliance standards are met, including OSHA, ADA, and environmental regulations. Track and report facility issues, ensuring timely resolution through maintenance teams or contractors. Supervises staff by interviewing, recommending staff for hire/fire, assigning and reviewing work, counseling, and evaluating the performance of incumbents. Assist with inventory management of maintenance supplies and equipment. Coordinate facility reservations and space utilization for meetings, events, and department needs. Assist in developing and enforcing facility policies and guidelines for state employees and visitors. Support emergency preparedness by maintaining evacuation plans and emergency contact lists. Assist in managing vendor relationships, ensuring timely and cost-effective service. Help coordinate contracts for cleaning, landscaping, security, and maintenance services. Verify contractor compliance with state procurement policies and service agreements. Maintain facility records, including maintenance logs, inspection reports, and service agreements.
