Job Summary

This position produces engaging content across digital and print platforms, manages social media, website content, and media relations, and supports agency leadership with presentation materials and stakeholder communications.

Job Duties
- Develop and publish written content including newsletters, press releases, and feature stories highlighting agency programs, funded projects, and community impact
- Create and design digital and print collateral such as infographics, reports, one-pagers, and presentation materials that communicate WIFA’s mission and results
- Manage agency social media and digital outreach channels (including website content management and updates) and adapt materials for platform-specific engagement
- Support media relations efforts by drafting press materials, maintaining media lists, and preparing background information and visuals for interviews or editorials
- Provide communications and presentation support to agency leadership and Board, including speech drafts, talking points, and slide decks for Board and stakeholder events
- Coordinate communications logistics for stakeholder and advisory group meetings, ensuring clear materials and follow-up documentation
- Assist with event promotion and on-site coverage (photography, recaps, collateral) for conferences, meetings, and outreach engagements
- Other duties as assigned as related to the position
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):
- Principles and practices of public information, marketing, and communications Journalism, storytelling, and media relations
- Graphic design, visual identity standards, and content layout
- Digital engagement and social media analytics
- Public sector communication best practices
- Graphic and digital design (Adobe Creative Suite or Canva)
- Exceptional writing, editing, and visual communication
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Collaboration and interpersonal communication
- Content strategy and project management
- Website content creation/management
- Translate complex or technical topics into engaging, accessible language
- Work independently and exercise judgment in message development
- Build relationships with internal staff, partners, and media
- Manage multiple deadlines and communication platforms
- Valid Drivers License and Occasional Travel Required
- 5-7 years of experience
- Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver license record checks, required to maintain acceptable driving records and complete any required driver training (see Arizona Administrative Code R2-10-207.11)
- Requires possession of and ability to retain a current, valid state-issued driver license appropriate to the assignment
