Job Summary
Testifies in administrative law hearings and/or court appearances as an “expert”, deputy custodian of records witness; and partner with Department of Public Safety to certify new ignition interlock devices. Assists with record compliance duties and is the subject matter expert on customer records. Travel in and out of state as required when testifying on Motor Vehicle Division records or pending cases.
This position may offer the ability to work remotely, within Arizona, based upon the department's business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures.

Job Duties
- Perform detailed investigations regarding violations of statutes. Research, analyze and evaluate documents to determine appropriate action pursuant to Arizona Revised Statutes. Evaluate felony/misdemeanor offenders by reviewing Revocation Investigation packets and adding violations to customer records as necessary.
- Investigates tampering/circumvention cases or missed rolling retests, review data loggers for high Blood Alcohol Content (BAC); enters Certified Ignition Interlock Device (CIID) extensions on driving records; research eligibility of special restricted licenses; investigate customers/installers/manufacturer complaints
- Support internal/external communications within MVD and other government agencies. Take part in pretrial conferences, depositions, and various discovery process activities. Aid attorneys of potential litigation for specific cases. Responds to attorney needs/requests for records and documents.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):
- ARS Titles 04, 08, 13, 28, and 41.
- MVD polices and procedures, various codes (courts, disposition, status) and MAX computer knowledge in reading DL record segments, of the techniques and methods of interviewing, interrogating, records searching and identifications appropriate to the agency of assignment.
- Principles and practices of the assigned agency's authority and available information
needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
Skill In
- Gathering, compiling, preserving detailed evidence and preparing cases for civil and/or criminal proceedings.

- Partner with DPS in certifying and training any/all new devices in Arizona.
- Conduct complex investigations in a prompt, efficient and professional manner, research, identify and select proper and complex documents.
- Perform independently or in a lead role, on complex cases, in a professional manner
