Core function of this position:
Works as the Operations Supervisor. The Operations Unit is responsible for all customer service functions and clerical support for the detachment.

Customer service experience, anticipates and meets the needs of both internal and external customers. Dealing with service along with skills in establishing and maintaining cooperative relationships with others.
Proficiency using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Outlook, Excel) and related business/office software to accomplish work duties.

Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or the equivalent.
AND
One year of office work experience providing a broad range of clerical support that includes performing reception duties, answering routine questions on services or products, retrieving information from electronic or hard copy files, recording expenditures and receipts, or typing routine correspondence.
Special Note:
"High school diploma equivalent" means one of the following: 1) a G.E.D.; 2) completion of any basic adult education course equivalent to 480 class hours (16 weeks at 30 course hours per week); 3) acceptance in full standing by an accredited college or university; 4) highest grade of school completed plus an amount of paid or volunteer experience that totals 12 years and includes basic clerical tasks such as greeting clients, answering phones, typing, filing, sorting mail, entering data, receiving payments, making change, or maintaining logs.
Some positions in this class may require the incumbent to operate motor vehicles. Such positions require that the applicant possess a regular Alaska driver's license and be 18 years of age or older.
Some positions in this class may require skill in typing. Recruitment and selection may include this requirement.
Additional Required Information
AT TIME OF INTERVIEW:
If available, two (2) of your most recent performance evaluations.
Three (3) professtional references with current phone numbers, at least one (1) must be from a current supervisor.
A copy of academic transcripts (unoffical are okay, please ensure that the institution name/URL is listed on the transcrips) to verify that you meet the minimum qualifications.
BACKGROUND CHECK
This position requires the incumbent to submit to a fingerprint based criminal history background check. Due to the sensitive nature of this position, and required access to APSIN, an applicant with criminal convictions will not move forward in the selection process.
CONFIDENTIALITY AGREEMENT
The successful candidate will be required to read, understand, and agree to via signature, an agreement of confidentiality concerning the work commonly encountered within the Department of Public Safety to qualify for this position.
