About the position Responsibilities • Direct and inspire a team of land management professionals overseeing lease issuance on state lands. • Facilitate public land use and promote economic development. • Develop and manage policies related to the utilization of Alaska's natural resources. • Mentor and guide staff to enhance their professional growth and effectiveness. • Make informed decisions that align with the public interest and organizational goals. Requirements • Experience in natural resource management or a related field. • Project management skills and experience. • Strong decision-making abilities and sound judgment. • Excellent writing and communication skills in English. • A valid driver's license. Nice-to-haves • Experience in environmental science or related disciplines. • Knowledge of state and federal land laws governing Alaska. • Ability to influence and negotiate effectively.
