What You Will Be Doing

Working as part of the fast paced DMV Public Service team examining documentation presented in order to issue multiple types of identification documents as well as titles and registrations. This position requries thorough attention to detail and problem solving, reviewing and explaining driving privleges and regulations. The MVCSR1 will interact directly with the public often times explaining policies, statutes and regulations.

The Working Environment You Can Expect

The position is located in our main office located inside the University Center on the Old Seward Hwy. in Anchorage, 4001 Ingra St. Ste. 101, Anchorage, Ak 99503. The MVCSRI will be assigned to a work station in the public service lobby. The hours are 8:30 - 5:00 Monday through Friday with an hour lunch with possible overtime opportunities.The MVCSR1 may rotate occasionaly between Eagle River and Anchorage based on business needs.

  • Computer Skills: Uses computers, software applications, databases, and automated systems to accomplish work.
  • Adaptability: adjusts planned work by gathering relevant information and applying critical thinking to address multiple demands and competing priorities in a changing environment.
  • Arithmetic: Performs computations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division correctly using whole numbers, fractions, decimals, and percentages.
  • Problem Solving: Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.

Minimum Qualifications

Six months of employment experience that included cash handling and working directly with clients or customers. Examples of qualifying experience include such work as sales cashier, bank teller, food service wait staff or cashier, and so on.

OR

Six months of office clerical employment experience providing information to clients, customers, or the general public on services, procedures, and requirements, which included entering or retrieving data using computer systems.

Substitution

Postsecondary education from an accredited college may substitute for the required experience. (Three semester hours or four quarter hours equal one month.)
