The Department of Labor and Workforce Development, Division of Workers' Compensation, is recruiting for an Investigator 3 located in Anchorage!
The position is in the General Government Unit (GGU) at a range 18.
What You Will Be Doing:
The Alaska Workers’ Compensation Special Investigations Unit (SIU) investigates allegations of criminal and civil fraud under the Alaska Workers’ Compensation Act, enforces compliance with workers’ compensation insurance requirements, and provides compliance education to the general public. Under the general supervision and direction of the Chief Investigator, the incumbent Investigator 3 is responsible for more complex fraud investigations involving employers, injured workers, and care providers.

SIU conducts thorough and fair fraud investigations, holds violators accountable, and strives to prevent uninsured injuries through proactive public education. This investigator position is crucial to the process of ensuring employer compliance with the Alaska Workers’ Compensation Act to protect employers and workers from uninsured injuries and fraudulent activity.

This position is located in mid-town Anchorage at 3301 Eagle Street, which offers ample free parking and easy access to restaurants, retail shops, and a 15-acre park with grassy fields and paved walking paths. This position requires occasional travel within the State.
SIU investigators enjoy a private office atmosphere. We perform a significant amount of hands-on work both in and out of the office, with routine public contact. Therefore, telework is not an option in this office.
