What You Will Be Doing

In this role, you will take the lead in managing and administering the General Relief/Temporary Assisted Living Program under the guidance of the Health Program Manager 4 (Chief of Programs). You will oversee the intake process for waivers and Community First Choice/Personal Care Services applications, ensuring that all procedural aspects of the General Relief Program are handled efficiently and in compliance with policy. You will also be responsible for managing a substantial program budget.

Working as a supervisor, you will directly guide a Health Program Manager I and two Health Program Associate supervisors, coordinating their efforts to support the daily operations of the General Relief/Temporary Assisted Living Program and the application processes for Home and Community-Based waiver and state plan programs.

This postion requires regular travel throughout the state of Alaska

The Working Environment You Can Expect

This position is located in Anchorage, Alaska

The office is located in Northeast Anchorage (1831 Bragaw Street).

It is near Costco, East High School, various restaurants, and a coffee shop. Parking is readily available at the office. The incumbent will work closely with other members of the SDS Management team.

The position requires regular local travel and occasional travel throughout the state.

Equivalent To Those Typically Gained By

A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in biological, health or behavioral science; health practice; education; public, healthcare, or business administration; or a closely related field;

AND/OR

Progressively responsible professional experience performing health program planning, development, coordination, evaluation, or implementation; providing technical health care assistance and consultation; conducting health care utilization or quality assurance examinations; and/or delivering health care.

Special Note: Agencies employing Health Program Managers are responsible for administering a wide range of medical, behavioral, and social health insurance programs for children and adults. Positions typically focus on a particular health area. Where licensure is required, the job vacancy announcement will identify the type of license necessary to apply for that specific position. The essential functions of some positions may involve exposure to infectious diseases and/or biohazards. Travel may be required.
