What you will be doing:
In this role, you will provide paraprofessional accounting support for the Section of Women’s, Children’s, and Family Health and the Alaska Breast and Cervical Screening Assistance Program.

Your responsibilities will include processing medical claims; reviewing and coding vendor invoices; validating encumbrances and Reimbursable Services Agreements (RSAs) for payment; tracking and maintaining program budgets; performing ongoing financial analysis; preparing specialized financial reports; conducting complex cost accounting reconciliations; and assisting with federal budget development.

You will play a critical role in supporting program operations by establishing and maintaining a complex medical services billing and authorization network, ensuring accuracy and compliance through ongoing claims processing, data entry, evaluation, and reconciliation

Within WCFH, the Alaska Breast and Cervical Screening Assistance Program promotes early detection of breast and cervical cancer by providing screening services and covering associated costs for income-eligible Alaskans.

The working environment you can expect:

This position is in the Frontier Building in midtown Anchorage. There is currently an option for a hybrid telework structure after the initial probation period. There is ample parking, and we are close to bus lines, parks, restaurants, and shopping. We are a close-knit and fun team dedicated to improving the lives of Alaskans.

ertification as an Accounting Technician from an accredited college will substitute for the required experience.

Post-secondary education from an accredited college will substitute for the required experience (3 semester/4 quarter hours equal one month) if it includes at least 6 semester/8 quarter hours in Accounting.At the time of the interview, please provide the following:
  1. Three (3) professional references, whom we may contact by phone, are required. One (1) of these references must be your current or most recent supervisor, if not already provided in the application. 
  2. Current performance evaluation, if available.
  3. A copy of academic transcripts (unofficial is okay; please ensure that the institution name/URL is listed on the transcripts) is used to verify that you meet the minimum qualifications.

EDUCATION
