Duties
- Manage full-cycle bookkeeping including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll processing, bank reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance using software such as QuickBooks Online, Xero, Sage, and other financial systems.
- Prepare accurate financial statements, balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Perform detailed account analysis, journal entries, account reconciliation, and double-entry bookkeeping to ensure financial data integrity.
- Oversee payroll processing ensuring timely and accurate employee compensation while maintaining compliance with tax laws and payroll regulations.
- Maintain and update accounting records using spreadsheets and financial software; ensure all transactions are properly documented and categorized.
- Conduct monthly bank reconciliations, general ledger reconciliation, and account analysis to verify accuracy of financial data.
- Support budgeting processes by monitoring expenses and assisting in financial planning efforts; prepare reports for management review.
- Assist with audits by providing necessary documentation and ensuring adherence to accounting standards and internal controls.
- Manage office operations including supply procurement, vendor relations, administrative support tasks, and maintaining an organized work environment.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a full charge bookkeeper or similar role with strong knowledge of accounting principles such as GAAP.
- Extensive proficiency with accounting software
- Demonstrated ability in corporate or non-profit accounting environments; familiarity with public accounting practices is advantageous.
- Strong skills in spreadsheets (Excel or Google Sheets), account reconciliation, journal entries, bank reconciliation, account analysis, and double-entry bookkeeping.
- Knowledge of payroll processing procedures along with accounts payable and receivable management.
- Ability to perform technical accounting tasks such as balance sheet reconciliation, general ledger accounting, debits & credits management, and financial report writing.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently; 10 key typing skills are preferred.
- Understanding of financial concepts including budgeting, account analysis, account reconciliation, and internal controls.
- Experience working with various accounting standards and systems such as QuickBooks Online or Sage is highly desirable.
