Position Summary
State Line Animal Hospital & Holistic Health is seeking an experienced, compassionate, and confident Practice Manager to lead our team and cultivate a culture of excellence.

This individual will work closely with the owner to ensure the hospital operates efficiently while maintaining the highest standards of patient care, client service, and employee engagement.
This is a leadership position focused primarily on people management, team development, and organizational excellence.
Primary ResponsibilitiesTeam Leadership & Employee Development (60%)
- Lead, coach, mentor, and develop a high-performing veterinary team.
- Foster a positive, collaborative, and accountable workplace culture.
- Address performance concerns promptly through coaching, documentation, and follow-up.
- Recruit, interview, hire, onboard, and retain exceptional team members.
- Conduct regular one-on-one meetings and performance evaluations.
- Develop career growth opportunities and individualized development plans.
- Ensure new employees receive structured onboarding and training.
- Maintain employee handbook, job descriptions, and personnel records.
- Recognize and celebrate employee achievements while promoting morale and engagement.
- Serve as a trusted resource for employees while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries.
Hospital Operations (20%)
- Oversee the daily flow of the hospital to maximize efficiency and client satisfaction.
- Monitor staffing levels and scheduling to ensure appropriate coverage.
- Continuously improve hospital systems, workflows, and standard operating procedures.
- Coordinate facility maintenance, equipment repairs, and vendor relationships.
- Partner with the owner to implement strategic initiatives and practice growth.
Client Experience (10%)
- Champion an exceptional client experience throughout the hospital.
- Resolve complex client concerns with professionalism and empathy.
- Ensure scheduling protocols and service standards are consistently followed.
- Help create a welcoming environment for clients and their pets.
Administrative Leadership (10%)
- Coordinate staff meetings and leadership meetings.
- Work with the finance manager on employee benefits administration and onboarding paperwork.
- Maintain training documents and operational policies.
- Assist with marketing initiatives and website updates as needed.
- Perform other leadership responsibilities that support the continued growth of the practice.
Qualifications
- Previous managerial experience required (at least 2 years).
- Previous experience in a veterinary practice preferred, but not required.
- Proven ability to coach, mentor, and develop employees.
- Strong emotional intelligence and conflict resolution skills.
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
- High level of accountability and professionalism.
- Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities while remaining calm under pressure.
- Experience with Pulse or similar veterinary practice software preferred.
- Passion for creating a positive workplace culture built on trust, respect, and continuous improvement.
