Job Summary

Responsibilities
- Review and interpret medical records to assign appropriate ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT codes, and DRG classifications
- Ensure accurate coding of diagnoses, procedures, and services in accordance with current coding standards
- Prepare and submit insurance claims using EMR/EHR systems while verifying patient information for accuracy
- Follow up on unpaid or denied claims through medical collections processes
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of healthcare regulations, insurance policies, and coding updates
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation as needed for proper coding
- Manage medical records efficiently, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Assist in auditing billing processes to improve accuracy and efficiency in the revenue cycle
