What are the responsibilities and job description for the Work Study, Clinton Campus position at State Fair Community College?
Position Purpose: The Clinton Work Study position is a part-time, hourly student position that assists with the daily office and facility responsibilities at the SFCC Clinton campus.
Reports to: Director OR Assistant Director, Clinton Campus
Department: SFCC Clinton campus
Responsibilities May Include:
- Greet and assist students and walk-ins
- Answer phones and transfer calls to respective staff
- Sign in students for appointments and notify staff
- Sign in walk-ins for other services including MO Job Center, Vocational Rehabilitation, Central Methodist University, Foster Closet, Teacher Warehouse
- Take donations for Foster Closet and/or Teacher Warehouse down to the basement
- Tutoring students in subjects as skills allow
- Facility cleaning and maintenance tasks such as cleaning windows, vacuuming, reporting any repairs needed to staff, watering plants, restocking items, cleaning tables, classrooms, and kitchen, blowing leaves on sidewalks, cleaning the parking lot, etc.
- Some cooking is required so use of popcorn machine and small convection oven—will train
- Stock, clean, and update pantry items
- Student support to include: tech support, help with ordering books, help with applying to SFCC, help finding classes, tutoring, etc.
- Plan and promote activities for literacy skills on campus and in the community
- Help staff plan campus events
- Be an active participant in the campus Student Advisory Committee as needed
- File/scan/copy documents and perform other administrative tasks
- Create flyers in Canva and help with social media as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
- Positive attitude and willingness to take initiative to complete tasks

- Punctual, responsible, and dependable
- Must maintain confidentiality and privacy with student information
- Be enrolled in at least one on-ground class at the SFCC Clinton campus
- Good communication skills—thorough in taking messages
- Customer service and problem-solving skills
- Working knowledge of computers
- Excellent written and oral communication skills including proficiency in spelling
- Demonstrate student-centeredness and be able to interact with students and the public in a positive manner
- Be committed to the mission and philosophy of State Fair Community College
- Ability to actively work in an office and educational setting, including exposure to a variety of conditions including chemicals and materials associated with science and health science programs of study. There is frequent sitting, walking, standing and stooping required. There is an occasional need to lift objects (up to 30 pounds) and perform other similar actions during the course of the workday.
Employment will require a criminal background check at college expense. Preference is given to Missouri residents.

Student Work Study Positions are funded based on student FASFA status on a per semester basis. If you are a SFCC student, please check with our Financial Aid Department to see if you qualify.
If you do not qualify for Work Study, this position will be paid with department funds.
Student workers cannot work more than 17 hours a week.
Salary : $15
