State Electric Supply Co. is seeking a motivated, relationship-driven Outside Sales Account Manager to join our team in Clarksburg, West Virginia.
This is an opportunity for an experienced sales professional who enjoys developing customer relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and helping customers find the right electrical products and solutions. The successful candidate will take ownership of an established territory while actively pursuing opportunities to expand our presence throughout the Clarksburg market and surrounding areas.

What You’ll Do
As an Account Manager, you will serve as a trusted resource for customers while helping grow sales and strengthen State Electric’s position in the market. Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing and executing sales strategies to achieve revenue, profitability, and growth objectives
- Building and maintaining strong, long-term relationships with existing customers
- Identifying and pursuing new accounts, projects, and business opportunities
- Making regular customer visits and maintaining an active presence throughout the assigned territory
- Learning about each customer’s business, challenges, and upcoming needs
- Recommending electrical products, services, and solutions that provide meaningful value
- Preparing quotes, following up on opportunities, and helping move projects through the sales process
- Working closely with inside sales, branch leadership, operations, purchasing, and product specialists to provide dependable customer service
- Maintaining accurate customer, sales, and opportunity information
- Monitoring market conditions, competitive activity, industry developments, and customer trends
- Representing State Electric professionally at customer meetings, industry events, and community activities
- Following through on commitments and helping resolve customer concerns promptly and professionally
What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated sales professional who is comfortable building relationships, managing a territory, and being accountable for results.
Preferred qualifications include:
- Three or more years of successful outside sales, account management, business development, or related experience
- Experience in electrical distribution, lighting, industrial products, construction, commercial sales, or a related field
- A demonstrated ability to build customer relationships and grow business
- Strong communication, negotiation, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- The ability to identify customer needs and recommend practical solutions
- A dependable, service-oriented approach with strong follow-through
- The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with branch and corporate teams
- Comfort using Microsoft Office products, customer-management tools, and other business technology
- A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel regularly throughout the assigned market
Industry experience is strongly preferred, but we also welcome accomplished sales professionals who are motivated to learn the electrical distribution business.
