- Rotating Saturdays 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM
- Overnights- 6:00 PM to 8:30 AM
- Opportunity to pick up additional shifts
Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Part-Time Direct Support Professional (DSP) to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing 1:1 support and assistance to our adult daughter with moderate autism helping her achieve greater independence in home and community settings. The Part-Time Direct Support Professional will offer mentoring and modeling, assist with skill development, and encourage community engagement through planned activities. This position requires a strong commitment to care, patience, and the ability to work collaboratively with clients and their families.
Responsibilities
- Assist individuals with daily living activities and ensure a safe and positive environment.
- Maintain a clean and safe living environment for clients, ensuring all areas are tidy and organized.
- Provide personalized support with modeling and mentoring in the home and community.
- Assist with the development of social interactions, independent living skills and appropriate behavioral management.
- Support the individual’s goals and outcomes as outlined in their Individual Support Plan (ISP).
- Provide transportation for community outings as needed.
- Maintain documentation of progress and report any concerns.
- Collaborate with family members to ensure comprehensive care for clients.
- Attend monthly team meetings with the behavioral specialist and support team.
Qualifications
- Must be 18 years old.
- Must have a valid driver’s license & insured, registered, and inspected vehicle.
- Ability to pass background checks.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or autism is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with the client, family, and team members.
- A background in social work or related fields can be beneficial but is not required.
- Must be patient, empathetic, and possess a genuine desire to help others lead fulfilling lives.
Pay Rate:
- Companion Services: $19/hr
- In-Home & Community Services: $25/hr
- On the Job Mileage Reimbursement
