What are the responsibilities and job description for the Food Services - District Wide Floater position at State College Area School District?
Food Service Floaters have the same general duties as other part time kitchen staff but are not permanently assigned to one location. Floaters are used to fill positions temporarily open due to employee illness, use of personal days, etc. Floaters are informed of the work location and hours by 7:30 a.m. daily. Job responsibilities can include food preparation, food serving, clean-up, and cashiering.
Floaters efficiently and properly prepare food items for service to customers, maintain high standards for preparing and presenting food for quality and safety, and provide excellent and efficient customer service.
This job requires the employee to be standing or walking the entire work shift. Work requires twisting, pushing, and pulling. Regular lifting of 10-20 lbs. required; occasional lifting of up to 40 lbs.
Hours: 3.5 to 4.5 hours per day - follows the student calendar.
Pay Rate for the 2025/2026 School Year: $18.15 per hour.
Pay Rate for the 2026/2027 School Year: $18.85 per hour.
