Statement of Purpose: The Office Coordinator serves as the first point of contact for members, the legal community and the public engaging with the State Bar’s South Georgia Office. This role ensures a welcoming, organized, and responsive environment while supporting essential office operations and bar-related programs. The position combines front-line service, administrative coordination, and basic technical support to advance the Bar’s mission and deliver meaningful value to members.
Duties
Member & Consumer Engagement
· Serve as the first point of contact for visitors and incoming calls, providing courteous, timely assistance to attorneys and consumers.
· Respond to information requests via phone, mail and in person, or route inquiries appropriately.
Administrative & Program Support
· Maintain the office calendar and coordinate scheduling for meetings and other events.
· Provide logistics support for bar-sponsored programs, trainings, meetings and events.
· Receive and route consumer mail to internal departments or external agencies.
Technology & Event Logistics
· Set up and take down video conferencing or audiovisual equipment as needed.
· Provide support for virtual meetings using Zoom or other platforms.
Office Operations
· Monitor and restock office supplies, coordinate with vendors when necessary.
· Perform occasional light office cleaning as necessary to support a professional environment.
· Assist with other projects or administrative duties as assigned.
Essential Functions of the Job
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to interact effectively with professionals as well as the public.
· Customer service orientation with a proactive, hospitable approach.
· Ability to manage multiple priorities and follow through on tasks with accuracy and effectiveness.
· Comfort with basic office technology, including Microsoft Office Suite and Zoom. Basic knowledge of audiovisual equipment a plus.
· Good judgment, discretion, and professionalism in handling sensitive information.
· Ability to lift or move equipment and furniture (typically 5 – 20 lbs.) for event or meeting setup.
Education & Training Experience Qualifications
· Prior experience in administrative, client service, or hospitality roles – preferably in legal, nonprofit, or professional services settings.
· Post-secondary education preferred or equivalent work experience.
· Familiarity with office management systems and standard administrative tools.
