The Personal Banker serves as a proactive member of the banking center team by being an initial contact for customers. The Personal Banker is responsible for expanding the relationship with existing customers. The personal banker supports the retention and growth of customer relationships through sales of deposits and loan products and services. The personal banker develops a comprehensive knowledge of the customer’s needs and recommends products and services to help the customer achieve their financial goals. The Personal Banker meets or exceeds established sales and referral goals and serves as the backup to the Banking Center Manager or Market Manager when he/she is not available. The Personal Banker also supports and leads the daily operations of the banking center while providing superior customer service.

Essential Functions
- Supports the daily operations of the banking center.
- Provides guidance and participates in daily operational and sales activities to achieve customer service and business growth objectives.
- Provides excellent customer service and adheres to SB Customer Service Standards and Bank Philosophy.
- Leads the conversion of service requests to sales.
- Builds camaraderie among the team to help deliver on service and sales goals.
- Drives sales through consistent profiling, cross-selling, and follow-up activities. Meets individually established goals.
- Focuses on key behaviors that result in quality new accounts that are relationship-based with deep cross-sell opportunities.
- Maintains knowledge of consumer loan products, takes credit applications, and presents recommendations to lenders.
- Processes customer transactions accurately and in compliance with current policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Exhibits excellent judgment in handling confidential information.
- Follows all regulatory, security, and audit requirements.
- Ensures that proper cash control and audit procedures are being followed.
Requirements
- High school education or GED required, some college preferred.
- Requires 2 years of banking, sales, or related experience.
- Prior customer service background is required.
- Cash handling experience preferred.
- Previous computer experience with Windows, Microsoft Office, and other computer applications.
