SUMMARY OF POSITION
A State Bank Assistant Manager supports the Branch Manager in driving overall branch performance, managing the day-to-day operations, and supervision of the branch staff. Assistant Managers are directly responsible for the operational oversight and overall branch compliance adherence. Through individual and branch sales performance, they help drive strong customer relationships and business results. Providing leadership, coaching, and employee development focused on sales effectiveness and delivering customer service excellence that is centered around the financial well-being of each client is critical in this role. As a community bank, each Assistant Manager is expected to support their Branch Manager’s external business development and community activities, ensuring State Bank’s commitment to their local market is felt.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Ensures audit compliance and maintains high-quality procedural standards, proactively identifying and implementing corrective actions to uphold adherence to established bank policies, procedures, and state and federal regulations.
2. Engages in targeted profiling, cross-selling, and proactive follow-up activities to achieve individual and branch-wide production and branch performance goals.
3. Actively contributes to the bank-wide referral program, supporting broader business development.
4. Oversees and mentors team members in delivering exceptional service, proactively identifying opportunities to enhance customer satisfaction and strengthen business relationships.
5. Cultivates meaningful client relationships and drives a customer-centric culture through coaching, performance management, and strategic decision-making to support business growth and operational excellence, The State Bank Way.
6. Maintains confidentiality while demonstrating sound judgment in handling sensitive information by fostering trust and engagement.
7. Resolves inquiries and concerns promptly with efficiency and empathy, reinforcing a customer-focused culture that drives loyalty and positive experiences.
8. Assist in the management of the staff, including scheduling, training, and employee development.
9. Support the branch’s consumer lending initiatives by proactively identifying lending opportunities, promoting financial products tailored to customer needs, and guiding clients through the lending process—from loan origination to application processing and seamless loan closing.
10. Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
High School education with some college preferred. Three to five years of banking experience, with three plus years of sales or management experience preferred. Previous cash handling and customer service experience required. Previous computer experience with Windows, Microsoft Office, and other computer applications. SKILLS & ABILITIES
