ABOUT THE ROLE
Stat Mobile Imaging brings diagnostic imaging directly to patients who cannot easily travel for care — nursing home residents, homebound elderly, and underserved communities across Katy and greater Houston. We are hiring contract ultrasound technologists to perform bedside diagnostic studies in skilled nursing facilities, assisted living communities, hospice settings, and private homes.
This is a 1099 contract role paid per patient. Scan with our machine or bring your own — either works. You bring your credentials, your scanning skill, and your own reliable transportation.

- Venous Doppler — upper extremity (right / left / bilateral)
- Arterial Doppler — upper extremity (right / left / bilateral)
- Venous Doppler — lower extremity (right / left / bilateral)
- Arterial Doppler — lower extremity (right / left / bilateral)
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Perform diagnostic ultrasound and Doppler studies at patient bedside per physician orders
- Produce high-quality diagnostic images that meet interpreting radiologist standards
- Transmit completed studies for interpretation in a timely manner
- Verify patient orders, demographics, and insurance information for accuracy
- Prepare and position patients with care, particularly those with limited mobility, dementia, or anxiety
- Maintain patient confidentiality and full HIPAA compliance
- Follow infection control standards and facility protocols at each site
- Coordinate professionally with facility staff, dispatch, and ordering providers
- Keep the equipment you scan with — ours or your own — clean, secure, and in good working order
REQUIREMENTS
- Active ARDMS (RDMS) or ARRT (S) certification
- Relevant specialty credential for the studies performed (RVT for vascular, RDCS for echo)
- Graduate of a CAAHEP-accredited diagnostic medical sonography program
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on diagnostic sonography experience
- Competence across the ultrasound and Doppler/duplex studies listed above
- Reliable personal transportation and a valid Texas driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Ability to carry the portable ultrasound unit (about 20 lbs) in and out of facilities and homes
YOU’LL STAND OUT IF YOU HAVE
- Prior mobile or portable ultrasound experience
- Your own portable ultrasound equipment (welcome, not required)
- Experience in SNF, ALF, hospice, or geriatric care settings
- Multiple ARDMS specialty credentials (abdomen, OB/GYN, vascular, echo)
- Familiarity with PACS and digital documentation systems
- Knowledge of Medicare documentation standards
THE DETAILS
- Compensation: paid per patient — rate discussed during the interview, with no cap on volume
- Engagement type: independent contractor (1099)
- Schedule: flexible, Monday through Sunday based on route and patient volume
- Service area: Katy and greater Houston metro, TX
- Equipment: use the ultrasound machine we provide, or your own if you prefer; contractor provides own transportation
