JOB SUMMARY
The Engineer I provides engineering support for Managed Pressure Drilling (MPD) operations, contributing to assignments of entry to mid-level complexity. This role shall develop a strong understanding of SBP (Surface Back Pressure) MPD principles, fluid and geomechanics fundamentals, and the ability to support field operations while collaborating closely with Sr. engineers and account managers. The Engineer I will serve as a liaison between the field and office, ensuring technical alignment, operational excellence, and customer satisfaction.
As part of a structured development path, the candidate is expected to progress beyond the Engineer I role within 12–18 months, expanding their knowledge across MPD variants, equipment selection, industry standards, regulatory practices, and operational best practices.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Development of MPD operational roadmaps.
- Development of MPD End of Well Reports.
- Development of Process Flow Diagrams and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
- Development of Technical Procedures.
- Contribute to a growth strategy in MPD engineering and assist in developing in-house training documentation.
- Understand and execute the process for reporting an HSE event at Stasis.
- Identify hazards as outlined in Stasis JSAs, demonstrating awareness and proactive risk management.
- Maintain 100% completion of all required HSE training.

- Ability to proficiently use MS Office Suite to develop presentations, correspondence, reports, and schedules (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Vizio, etc.).
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor of Science or Engineering degree (Petroleum, Mechanical, Chemical, or related discipline).
- Foundational understanding of O&G industry.
- (Preferred) Prior exposure to drilling engineering.
- (Preferred) Familiarity with MPD.
FIELD TIME REQUIREMENTS
- The Engineer I position includes field and shop time. During this time, the Engineer I will learn the practical aspect of entry level MPD Engineering under the direct supervision of Sr. Field Supervisors/ technicians or Field Engineers.
