Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Concrete Worker role based in Chadds Ford, PA. The Concrete Worker will assist with all phases of concrete construction, including site preparation, setting and stripping forms, placing reinforcement, and pouring, leveling, and finishing concrete for foundations, slabs, sidewalks, and other structures. Daily tasks include loading and unloading materials, operating basic tools and equipment, helping guide ready-mix deliveries, and maintaining a clean and safe job site. The role involves working outdoors in various weather conditions, following directions from crew leaders, and adhering to company safety procedures and project timelines. The Concrete Worker will collaborate with other crew members to ensure work meets quality standards and project specifications.
Qualifications
- Ability to perform concrete formwork and basic carpentry tasks related to building and stripping forms.
- Experience or familiarity with heavy equipment used in excavation and concrete work (e.g., skid steer, mini-excavator) is beneficial.
- Skills in concrete flatwork, including placing, screeding, finishing, and curing slabs and other horizontal surfaces.
- Knowledge of ready mix concrete handling, including coordinating deliveries and proper placement techniques.
- Capacity to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, bending, standing for extended periods, and working outdoors.
- Understanding of construction site safety practices and willingness to follow safety policies and use required PPE.
- Ability to read or follow basic measurements, levels, and layout instructions; prior construction experience is a plus.
- Reliable transportation to Chadds Ford, PA job sites and ability to work standard construction hours; valid driver’s license preferred.
