Responsibilities
- Operate heavy machinery such as excavators, dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, and water trucks to perform excavation and site preparation tasks
- Assist with the setup and breakdown of construction sites, including moving materials and debris
- Support horizontal drilling operations and tanker activities as needed to facilitate underground utilities installation
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment like Caterpillar machinery to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance
- Follow safety protocols diligently, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhering to site safety procedures
- Collaborate with team members to execute paving, grading, and other foundational tasks efficiently
- Maintain accurate records of equipment usage, site activities, and safety checks
Qualifications
- Prior experience working on construction sites or with heavy equipment operation is highly preferred
- Mechanical knowledge of construction machinery such as excavators, dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, water trucks, and dump trucks
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) or ability to obtain one is a plus for operating certain vehicles like tanker trucks or dump trucks
- Familiarity with Caterpillar equipment brands and their operation standards is advantageous
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions with physical stamina for demanding tasks
- Strong attention to safety procedures and a proactive approach to maintaining a safe work environment
- Basic understanding of construction processes including paving and underground utility installation
