A large heavy civil general contractor is adding a Senior Wastewater Treatment Estimator (WWE) to the team to lead and manage large-scale wastewater infrastructure project bids in Texas. We are looking for a Senior Wastewater Treatment Estimator to drive preconstruction and estimating efforts for large-scale wastewater infrastructure projects. This role will be based in either Houston or Austin, TX, working on bids for $10M–$50M WWTP projects across Texas. The ideal candidate has a strong network in Texas, understands local subcontractors, vendors, and pricing, and has experience in hard bid and negotiated bid environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead bidding and estimating efforts for wastewater treatment projects.
- Prepare quantity takeoffs, cost estimates, and bid proposals.
- Develop and maintain relationships with local subcontractors and suppliers.
- Work closely with Project Managers and Project Engineers (PEs) to align estimates with execution.
- Support business development efforts, attending city council meetings and municipal bid sessions.
- Analyze historical cost data, market trends, and labor/material pricing to improve bid accuracy.
- Assist in securing new wastewater projects in Texas, driving future growth.
Qualifications:
- 5-10 years of experience estimating wastewater treatment projects ($10M-$50M )
- Strong network in Texas, understanding local subs, vendors, and costs
- Experience in design-build, hard bid, negotiated bid, and public works estimating
- Expertise in lift stations, pump stations, WWTP expansions, and new builds
- Proficiency in estimating software (HCSS HeavyBid, Procore, Bluebeam, etc.)
- Ability to work in Houston or Austin office
