Job Description
The Site Acquisition Specialist will perform hands-on‑work for tower and fiber deployments, including leasing, zoning, permitting, reconciliations, and NTP preparation. The focus is on doing the work directly, not managing vendors. This position plays a critical role in maintaining accuracy, compliance, and momentum across all preconstruction activities. The position will also be responsible for data management using various types of software.
Responsibilities
- Identify and qualify tower and fiber sites; conduct due diligence and feasibility checks.
- Negotiate leases, amendments, access agreements, and easements with landlords and utilities.
- Maintain equipment lists, lease terms, expirations, and renewals in coordination with accounting.
- Reconcile all installations (leased and unleased) to prevent tower owner discrepancies.
- Organize SAQ documentation, apply naming conventions, and maintain shared file structures.
- Prepare and submit zoning applications, building permits, and development approvals; track progress and follow up with jurisdictions.
- Track federal land sites (BLM, DNR, USFS, Tribal) and manage annual Inventory/TDS forms.
- Manage annual GC certifications for tower vendors.
- Prepare NTP packages, gather required documents, coordinate with CX, and deliver final NTPs.
Qualifications
- 3–7 years in telecom site acquisition, zoning, permitting, or real estate negotiations.
- Strong understanding of tower and fiber deployment processes.
- Experience preparing regulatory applications and working with municipalities.
- Highly organized, detail oriented, and comfortable managing large volumes of documentation.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
