FIELD SERVICES TECHNICIAN - Spokane, Washington
FULL-TIME, HOURLY, NONEXEMPT

The Field Services Technician is responsible for assisting with installations, uninstalls, and maintenance of StarTouch’s microwave network; assisting in performing maintenance an equipment installations at company tower sites and terminal facilities including cable pulling and general networking duties, and adhering to company policies including accurate document maintenance, and professionally representing StarTouch Broadband Services through contact with customers and the work performed.
Travel throughout the State will be required with occasional overnight stays. Emergency after-hours work will be required from time to time. This position requires a great deal of drive time.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Ability to lift/carry approx. 70 pounds (tool boxes, ladders, antennas, cabling, etc.) to and from job sites
- Ability to assist in performing wireless equipment installations and uninstalls on rooftops, towers, poles, etc.
- Availability to travel throughout the States of Washington, Idaho, and Oregon for overnight trips as needed
- Comfortable operating ATV’s, snowmobiles and other off road transportation.
- Relish working in a “No Day Is Ever the Same” environment
- Comfortable and willing to work in inclement weather (snow, rain, heat, high wind, etc.)
- Demonstrated Proficiency in PC and laptop computers and programs
- Ability to program and test microwave radios, routers and equipment
- Skills and ability to perform cabling projects as needed (Cat5, direct burial, etc.)
- Ability to speak, read and write in English and communicate clearly and effectively with staff, customers and vendors
JOB REQUIREMENTS: (Training & Certification provided)
- OSHA 30 certification
- CPR/First aid certified
- OSHA safety for basic electrical (1 hour)
- Valid driver’s license
- Insurable driving record
- Available to work from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and often longer, as needed, Monday - Friday. Emergency after-hours work may be
required.
- Ability to continually pass random drug screens an initial background check.
