Overview
THEIR Youth Inc. is seeking a passionate, dependable, and purpose-driven After-School Youth Leadership Instructor (Co-Facilitator) to join our team. This role involves engaging middle and high school students in a dynamic, supportive after-school environment focused on leadership development, self-esteem building, and social-emotional growth.
This is a paid pilot program position, offering a unique opportunity to help build a growing youth organization from the ground up while making a meaningful impact through mentorship, education, and leadership development.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate engaging after-school sessions focused on youth leadership, teamwork, confidence-building, and personal development
- Implement age-appropriate curriculum and lesson plans that promote leadership skills and social-emotional learning
- Create and lead enrichment activities (arts, games, group discussions, leadership exercises, and interactive activities)
- Manage group behavior and classroom dynamics to maintain a safe, inclusive, and structured environment
- Foster positive relationships with students while encouraging respect, participation, and accountability
- Support students with diverse needs, including those requiring additional behavioral or emotional support
- Assist with planning, preparation, and execution of daily program activities
- Collaborate with the Program Director and other staff to support student growth and overall program success
- Communicate appropriately with parents/guardians and staff regarding student progress or concerns
- Ensure all safety guidelines and program protocols are followed
Qualifications
- Prior experience working with adolescents (middle school and/or high school preferred) in settings such as schools, nonprofits, mentoring programs, camps, youth organizations, or community programs
- Strong classroom management and positive behavior management skills
- Ability to lead engaging group activities and maintain structure in a youth-centered environment
- Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure
- Passion for mentoring youth and promoting leadership, confidence, and positive development
- Experience with social-emotional learning, youth development, or special populations is a plus
- Willingness to complete a background check
- First aid/CPR certification is a plus (or willingness to obtain if required)
Additional Details
- Schedule: Mondays & Wednesdays, 4:30 PM – 7:00 PM
- Program Duration: January 12 – April 29, week commitment required)
- Pay: $15–$18 per hour (based on experience)
- Location: Douglasville, GA (In-Person)
