As a Behavioral Health Counselor, you'll play an important role in supporting clients through assessments, counseling, crisis intervention, and care coordination while helping them build skills for long-term recovery and stability.

What You'll Do

  • Conduct behavioral health screenings, assessments, and assist with diagnoses
  • Provide 60% of services in the home and community
  • Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans
  • Provide individual, group, and family counseling services in the home 
  • Deliver crisis intervention and ongoing assessment of client needs
  • Educate and support clients and families throughout treatment
  • Coordinate care with community agencies and service providers
  • Maintain accurate and timely electronic health records
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, supervision, and trainings
  • Assist clients with accessing community resources and daily living supports
  • Ensure compliance with Medicaid, TANF, HIPAA, and organizational documentation standards

What You Bring

  • Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related human services field
  • Eligible for Florida licensure or Certified Addiction Professional (CAP) credential
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary treatment team
  • Ability to pass Level II Background, MVR, and Drug-Free Workplace screenings

Preferred:

  • Experience working in behavioral health, substance use treatment, crisis services, or community mental health
  • Experience providing individual and/or group counseling

Additional Requirements

  • Successful completion of Level II Background, MVR, and Drug-Free Workplace screenings
  • Ability to work in clinic and community-based settings as needed
  • Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Commitment to maintaining HIPAA compliance, professional ethics, and all federal, state, and local regulations
