Reporting to our Assistant Director, Workplace Community Experience, your role will be to support Lake County Site Directors in day-to-day operational and administrative functions of the facilities. You will schedule and provide routine and/or emergency repairs and maintenance of facilities, grounds, equipment, renovations, and installations as needed. Our Building & Repair Specialist will provide and coordinate support services such as transporting materials/furnishings related to staffing changes, re-locations, and expansion of facilities and training or event set-ups. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about supporting our Lake County Site Directors and looking for flexible Part-Time work in a mission driven organization.
In this role, you will:
- Complete work orders that are not covered by landlord, including but not limited to furniture assembly, hanging items on walls, and receiving/breaking down large deliveries as well as minor plumbing, painting, carpentry, and playground repair work in assigned facilities when a professional license is not required.
- Perform and be responsible for minor repairs and/or replacement of plumbing fixtures, valves, and other parts not covered by landlord, and resolve with landlord when a licensed plumber is needed.
- Repair and replace electrical fixtures, devices and appliances not covered by landlord who will be contacted when a licensed electrician is needed. Ensure routine maintenance of all heating and ventilation systems in coordination with landlord.
- Coordinate moving furniture, fixtures, and equipment within and between sites to support staff changes, relocations, renovations, and program expansion.
- Assist in coordination of facility construction, renovations, and playground development. Assist in ensuring facilities and equipment are appropriately maintained. Schedule and coordinate repairs not covered by landlord with subcontractors (electrician, plumber, locksmith, etc.) as needed.
- Coordinate with landlord on regular maintenance and upkeep of outside areas (lawns, landscaped beds, playgrounds, and parking lots), including weeding, mowing, landscape bark application, trash/litter removal, and other duties as required to keep areas clean and neat.
- Report safety, sanitation, and fire hazards to site directors and supervisor. Complete safety checklist once per month at each site. Perform other job-related duties as requested.
Job Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Proven record of 5-7 years of experience in the maintenance and operations of buildings, grounds, and facilities.
- Bilingual Spanish Required ( Must speak, read and write Spanish proficiently).

- Required to lift up to 55 pounds and have sufficient upper body strength to push a wheeled cart with hospitality items and building supplies.
- Essential to bend to access files and materials at floor level and use stool to reach materials on high shelving.
- Required to stand, stoop, and climb stairs. Need to work in and around mechanical, boiler, electrical areas that may be unclean and contain dust. Regular attendance is required and a key function.

Salary: At the time of this posting, the expected hourly range for this position is $30/hr - $33/hr. The expected hourly range will be based on a wide range of factors, including skills, qualifications, experience, as well as business needs and limitations.
