Stars is looking to add a Director of Community Services to build relationships with California medi-cal ABA and regional center vendorizations with a concerted effort on compliance, rate negotiation and budget development.
The Director of Community Services (Contract Development Focus) is a strategic leadership role responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and evaluation of community programs and services. This position places a strong emphasis on the development, negotiation, and management of contracts with external service providers, government agencies, and nonprofit partners to ensure high-quality, cost-effective service delivery aligned with organizational goals.
Stakeholder Engagement
· Build and maintain relationships with community partners, vendors, and government agencies.
· Represent the organization in public forums, advisory boards, and collaborative initiatives.
Budget & Compliance
· Monitor contract budgets and ensure fiscal accountability.
· Ensure compliance with grant requirements and reporting standards.
· Collaborate with finance and legal teams to mitigate risk.
Team Leadership
· Supervise contract administrators and program managers.
· Provide mentorship, training, and performance evaluations.
· Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in public administration, Business, Social Work, or related field (Master’s preferred).
· Minimum 7 years of experience in community services, with at least 3 years in contract development or procurement.
· Strong knowledge of contract law, public sector procurement, and grant management.
· Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
· Proven leadership and team-building capabilities.
