Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Extrusion Operator to join our manufacturing team. This role involves operating and maintaining plastics extrusion equipment to produce high-quality products. Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and monitor plastics extrusion machinery to ensure optimal production output.
- Conduct quality inspections using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers and calipers to verify product specifications.
- Perform visual inspections of equipment for safe operations.
- Handle materials safely using materials handling equipment such as forklifts and hand tools.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area adhering to safety standards and lean manufacturing principles.
- Conduct inspections throughout the production process to identify defects or deviations from quality standards.
- Support warehouse operations related to raw materials and finished goods storage.
Experience
- Prior experience in plastics extrusion or related manufacturing processes is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of plastics blown film, converting, and production optimization is advantageous.
- Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), press brake machines, CNC lathes, CNC machining centers, and basic math skills for measurements is desirable.
- Experience operating hand tools, precision measuring instruments like micrometers and calipers, and materials handling equipment such as forklifts is beneficial.
- Background in lean manufacturing practices, quality inspection, machining, assembly, or warehouse operations will be considered a plus.
- Mechanical knowledge combined with the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications is essential for success in this role.
