Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Collaborate with management to develop and execute a regional business plan that fuels profitable growth.
- Underwriting Excellence: Implement profit center strategies, adhere to underwriting guidelines, and ensure accurate premium booking, quoting, and binder preparation.
- Relationship Building: Cultivate strong partnerships with retail brokers and clients through proactive outreach and regular travel.
- Market Expansion: Aggressively market our products and services to brokers, expanding our footprint and driving new business opportunities.
- Team Development: Mentor and support underwriting staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professionalgrowth.
- Account Management: Price accounts, prepare and review reports, and ensure thorough documentation for each account.
- Performance Reporting: Complete underwriting self-audits, prepare weekly forecasts for the Home Office, and contribute to department initiatives.
- Continuous Improvement: Take on additional responsibilities as assigned, always striving for operational excellence.
- Proven expertise in underwriting construction accounts, with established broker/agent relationships.
- 2–3 years of experience in multiline primary casualty and/or construction underwriting.
- Strong marketing, business writing, and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Advanced proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Demonstrated leadership, time management, and organizational skills.
- Solid understanding of insurance and finance principles, including WC, GL, and AL.
- Commitment to professional development—if you don’t hold an industry designation, you’ll be supported to enroll in a relevant course within your first year.
