Position Summary
The Digital Marketing Specialist is responsible for planning, developing, executing, and
optimizing digital marketing initiatives that increase brand awareness, generate qualified leads,
drive engagement, and support fundraising, training, behavioral health, and organizational
initiatives.
Working as part of Starr's Marketing & Communications team, this position manages paid and
organic digital campaigns across multiple channels while collaborating with internal
stakeholders, vendors, and agency partners to ensure marketing efforts align with organizational
goals.
This role combines creative content development with performance marketing and analytics to
continually improve campaign effectiveness and audience engagement.

Primary Responsibilities
- Develop social media content that support Starr's programs, services, events, fundraising, and professional learning initiatives.
- Create and manage paid advertising campaigns across Google Ads, Meta (Facebook & Instagram), LinkedIn, YouTube, and other relevant platforms.
- Monitor campaign performance and optimize targeting, messaging, creative, budgets, and conversion strategies.
- Analyze marketing performance using Google Analytics, advertising platforms, CRM data, and other reporting tools to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Prepare regular reports that communicate campaign performance, insights, and recommendations.
- Develop engaging content for social media, blogs, and email campaigns.
- Assist with planning and maintaining editorial and content calendars.
- Produce short-form video content for social media, digital advertising, and promotional campaigns.
- Capture and edit photography and video during organizational events and activities as needed.
- Optimize digital content for search engines (SEO), accessibility, and evolving social media algorithms.
- Collaborate with graphic designers, writers, videographers, and subject matter experts to produce compelling social media content.
- Support email marketing campaigns, audience segmentation, automation, and performance optimization.
- Help maintain brand consistency across all digital channels.
- Stay current on emerging digital marketing trends, AI tools, platform updates, and industry best practices.
- Assist with additional marketing and communications projects as assigned.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, Public Relations, or a related field.
- 2-5 years of professional experience in digital marketing, communications, or related roles.
- Experience managing paid digital advertising campaigns across Google Ads and Meta platforms.
- Strong understanding of digital marketing strategy, customer journeys, and lead generation.
- Experience using Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, or similar reporting platforms.
- Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills.
- Experience creating content for social media, websites, and email marketing.
- Proficiency with Canva, or comparable creative software.
- Experience with marketing automation and email platforms such as HubSpot, Constant Contact, Mailchimp, or similar tools.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and collaborative.
- Experience in nonprofit, education, behavioral health, healthcare, or mission-driven organizations.
- Experience with CRM systems and marketing automation platforms.
- Knowledge of SEO and SEM best practices.
- Experience with WordPress or other content management systems.
- Photography and videography experience.
- Familiarity with project management software such as Monday.com.
- Understanding of accessibility standards and digital content best practices.
- Strategic thinking balanced with creative problem-solving.
- Strong storytelling abilities that connect audiences with meaningful work.
- Curiosity and a passion for learning emerging marketing technologies.
- Confidence making data-informed recommendations.
- An eye for design, branding, and compelling visual communication.
