Join our team as a Developmental Interventionist!

You'll be responsible for providing Developmental Intervention Early Intervention (EI) in home direct services for children birth to age three meeting the requirements of the Colorado Early Intervention program. The job requires, but is not limited to, contacting parents during the whole referral process, contacting Evaluations to determine eligibility for EI, coordinating with any services a child might need, working closely and keeping in continual communication with School Districts, and monitoring that the child is receiving an individualized curriculum with the IFSP goals embedded in the education of each child needing services.


What you'll do!

• Provide direct services with children and families in Early Intervention services by carrying out the goals on the Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP).

• Develop and maintain a good working relationship with parents and other team members and involve them both in the child’s programming.

• Conduct multidisciplinary evaluations for children referred to Early Intervention and complete professional written reports, using an approved evaluation tool.

• Maintain ongoing case notes for assigned children, submitting assigned attendance and case notes timely.

• Independently maintain individual schedule in order to complete home visits to assigned families

• Participate in Individualized Family Service Plan meetings

• Attend and participate in Teaming meetings as outlined on an IFSP

• Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Early Intervention.

• Complete ongoing professional development and education in order to maintain Colorado Department of Education certifications (at employees own expense).

• Complete new trainings as they arise through local and state systems.

• Comply with state requirements for the Early Intervention program such as implementing the Coaching Model of services, completing Telehealth training, and other requirements as they arise from the State Early Intervention program.

Requirements

What we're looking for!

• Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Early Childhood Special Education, or Special Education; and a Colorado License from the Colorado Department of Education in Early Childhood Special Education.

• Must have a valid Colorado driver’s license and maintain a certificate of personal auto insurance on file.

• Must pass background check.

• Must be able to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing with families and staff.

• Must be able to relate well with others e.g., staff, parents and community agencies.

• Must demonstrate working knowledge of typical and atypical child development.

• Must be able to identify family strengths and value family differences.

• Must be able to present information in a positive manner and not interject personal biases.

• Must be able to work independently, and as a team member when needed;

• Must be sensitive to the needs of children and their families.

• Must have the ability to maintain harmonious working relationships with others including supervisors, staff, parents, and individuals from the community.

• Must maintain confidentiality, HIPPA and FERPA.
