What are the responsibilities and job description for the Field/crop Operator position at Starnes & McFerrin LLC?
Duties may include: Operate or tend equipment used in agricultural production, such as tractors, combines, large self-propelled sprayer and irrigation equipment. Operate towed machines such as seed drills or manure spreaders to plant, harvest, fertilize, dust, and spray crops. Attach farm implements such as plows, discs, sprayers, or harvesters to tractors, using bolts and hand tools. Adjust, repair, and service farm machinery and notify supervisors when machinery malfunctions. Drive trucks to haul crops, supplies, or tools. Clean work areas, and maintain grounds and landscaping. Repair farm buildings, fences, and other structures. Set up, maintain, and operate irrigation pivots. Mark livestock to identify ownership and grade, using tags. Shift animals between grazing areas to ensure that they have sufficient access to food and check water supplies and refill when necessary & other related Field/Crop Operator activities as per SOC/OES 45-2091 (onetonline.org).
