Starner Tax Group-Rogers is a reputable and fast-paced income tax preparation office dedicated to providing accurate and professional tax services to our clients. We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Administrative Assistant to support our team and manage our checkout operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Exceptional Customer Service: Serve as the final point of contact for the office, checking out and assisting the flow of tens of clients per day with a professional and friendly demeanor.
- Financial Handling: Accurately process and record client payments (cash, credit, check) and ensure daily reconciliation of all payment logs and end-of-day reports.
- High-Volume Multitasking: Simultaneously manage a multi-line phone system, including answering, screening, transferring calls, and taking detailed messages while handling face-to-face client needs.
- Scheduling & Coordination: Efficiently schedule and manage client appointments to optimize Tax Preparer productivity and minimize client wait times.
- Document Handling: Organize, scan, file, and safeguard confidential client tax documents.
- Tax Support: Assemble completed tax returns for delivery and ensure all necessary forms and signatures are included.
Work Schedule & Commitment (Crucial)
This position requires flexibility and a commitment to our seasonal demands:
- Tax Season (January - April 15th): Expect to work Saturdays and commit to a demanding schedule of up to 65 hours per week, including overtime.
- Non-Tax Season (Mid-April - December): The schedule lightens considerably to approximately 30 hours per week, providing an excellent work-life balance that includes guaranteed three-day weekends (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday off).
Qualifications
- Customer Service Focus: Must have demonstrated experience in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment (e.g., retail, banking, medical front office).
- Administrative Acumen: Proven ability to manage a busy administrative desk, handle high-volume phone traffic, and prioritize concurrent tasks.
- Financial Integrity: Experience handling cash and credit transactions, including daily reconciliation/cash-out procedures.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and multi-line phone systems.
- Integrity: Absolute commitment to maintaining client confidentiality and handling sensitive financial information responsibly.

- Job Type: Temp to hire with demanding tax season hours. Tax Season bonus between $1000-$3000 based on attendance and job performance.
- Compensation: $18-$22 based on experience.
